Alexandria Frances’ moving image installation features objects connected with luxury to allow the viewer an experience of consumer manipulation. For this exhibition, her work focuses on how these objects require out attention to exist in the world, in direct comparison to luxury goods and the consumer. The process of abstraction from materiality that the image undergoes enhances this ambiguity of the work, and is an important reflection of audience perception. The piece was best viewed in the dark as this allows the work to engage the viewer as intended.
